 India - Many great men have descended from time to time on the land.  One such great man was born in the eighth century, who later became famous as Guru Shankaracharya.  The unprecedented work that Shankaracharya did in his short lifetime to bind the whole country in cultural unity is an example in itself.  Shankaracharya was born in a village called Kaladi in the state of Kerala in the eighth century.  His father's name was Shivguru and mother's name was Aryaba.  His family was Sanatan righteous Nambudari Brahmin.  It is said that many auspicious signs were present on his body.  When the father asked the astrologers in this regard, he said, "Your son will be great pundit, famous and lucky.
